College Scholarship applications are being accepted for the Spring Semester for students attending or planning to attend a Baptist university. Applications may be submitted to the church office or here online. Application deadline will be announced.

Scholarships are available for currrent high school students and current college students atending a Baptist University. Below are is the policy and guidlines for applicants.

The Scholarship Committee of First Baptist church shall be comprised of church members approved by
Purpose: The purpose of the Scholarship committee is to provide for the distribution of funds accumulated in the Scholarship account. These funds will be distributed according to the policies and procedures agreed upon by the members of the Scholarship Committee and adopted by the membership of
Goal: It is the goal of the Scholarship Committee to assist well-deserving students who are members of First Baptist church with educational expenses.
Eligibility: To be eligible to receive funds from the Scholarship Committee the student shall meet the following requirements:
1. Complete an application for scholarship funds.
2. Be accepted as a student at an institution of higher education associated with a State Baptist Convention. Criteria for determining which institutions are associated with a State Baptist Convention will be those institutions listed in the most recent edition of the Directory of Southern Baptist Colleges and schools.
3. Be an undergraduate student.
4. Be a current member or a recent member of
Application Procedures: In addition to the completed application for scholarship funds, the student shall:
1. Submit a letter of recommendation from one staff member of

Submit a letter from an individual who is currently serving as the student’s Sunday School teacher, or has served as the student’s Sunday School teacher within the two years preceding the date of application. The letter should state the length of time the teacher has known the student and has taught the student in Sunday School, indicate the level of the students Sunday School attendance and involvement in Sunday School activities, and attest to the student’s moral, ethical, and Christian character.
3. Submit a letter from an individual who is currently serving as the student’s public/private school teacher, or has served as the student’s public/private school teacher during high school. The letter should state the length of time the teacher has known the student and has taught the student in school; indicate the student’s moral, ethical, and Christian character. In the event the student has been home-schooled throughout high school, a letter should be submitted from an individual in the community who will attest to the student’s ethical, moral and Christian character.
4. Submit an official transcript of all high school and college work.
5. Write a spiritual autobiography including the details of his/her salvation experience, his/her spiritual growth, and reasons for attending a Christian college/university. The autobiography should also include a statement as to how the student intends to integrate faith and learning, and a statement of his/her calling to a religious or secular vocation.
6. Be available for an interview with the Scholarship Committee.

2. The Chairman of the Scholarship Committee shall notify all students completing an application for scholarship funds of the decision of the Scholarship Committee. Such notification shall be in writing.
