Preschool/Children’s Personnel

This new staffing plan  gives consideration to a number of factors related to the growth and development of our ministry to children:

  • This proposal provides 102 hours of staffing per week for birth-sixth grade.  Our previous structure provided 92 hours of staffing per week for birth-sixth grade.
  • This proposal works within the existing budgeted funds.
  • By having one person giving supervision and direction to birth through sixth grade, there is greater likelihood of a consistent and cohesive vision for this age span.
  • Having Shelly Melia in this lead role (oversight of birth through sixth with a strong  staff support team) puts someone with 18 years of childhood education experience in the leadership and vision casting role for the ministry.
  • As growth necessitates, the Associate level positions could transition into full time positions.  Staff in these positions will have been trained in the vision, values, and ministry philosophy of FBC-B.
  • This proposal gives specific attention to pre-teen ministry.
  • This plan allows for more people to be in more places in a multi-service church.
  • The items listed in green are being funded from the previous full time Children’s Minister’s package. The positions listed in black (Shelly’s position and the Intern position) are changed in terms of their description, but the hours remain the same as in previous personnel budgets:  32 hours per week for Shelly and 20 hours per week for a preschool intern.
