Denise Turner
Family:
Craig, Rachel, Jacob, Katelynn, & Ashlea
My life verse is: Joshua 24:15 …
” choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”
I know most of the time you only see the last part of this verse, but I truly believe that it is a choice we must make daily whom we will serve, so I prefer the extended version!
Saved:
I asked Jesus to be my Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 28, 1977 at 10:26 PM at the age of 7.
If I could ask God one question, it would be:
Why is it so hard to be still and listen?
Nobody knows that I:
Now why would I tell you if no one knows???
I am happiest when:
I bring a smile to someone’s face.
One of the things I find most fascinating is:
Life, how it begins, where the journey takes us, and the legacy we leave when we go. Through it all may we bring honor and glory to God our Father.
The One Book (besides the Bible) I’d recommend to anyone is:
Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss as it’s fun and teaches you to venture out of your comfort zone and discover what you might be missing.
My last meal would be:
Anything Mexican and with my friends and family.
I am most excited about:
Watching my children grow in the Lord and to see what He has planned for them.
On my iPod:
See family above…with 4 kids I don’t get toys of my own!
My trademark expression is:
Jiminy Pete! Or Fiddle De Dee!
My proudest moment is:
As a wife, watching my husband stop in the middle of an intersection to give a police officer a cold bottle of water on a 105* day. While a small gesture, it spoke volumes of the man I married and of the man my children call Daddy.
If I could I would:
Take tap dance lessons.
I could eat or drink:
Sweet Tea anytime day or night and never tire of it.
My pet peeve is:
People that do not yield to traffic exiting the freeway.
My perfect day would be:
Spent with family playing and relaxing.
My favorite childhood memory is:
Lying on the living room floor in front of a large window listening to Elvis records with my mom.
In my free time, I:
Crochet.
If I could do it over again, I’d:
Listen to my mother more, she is a very wise woman.
My favorite TV show is:
Grey’s Anatomy & The Bachelor / The Bachelorette
Four people I would want to have a meal with:
My grandparents, two were gone either before I was born or shortly after, and the other two while I was still quite young.
One of My Greatest Experiences with God is:
Overcoming my fears, the things I have been most afraid of in life, I have had to experience. From driving in the rain for the first time, to my own divorce, through it all God was beside me and made me a stronger person because of it.
One thing that would be wild to experience:
I think it would be awesome to hear the rocks cry out…but I don’t want to ever not be praising my God to make it happen!
