Welcome to the Prayer Ministry of First Baptist Church

Prayer is the FIRST PRIORITY of the Christian life and the ministries of the local church. Prayer is essential to spiritual growth and effective ministry just as breath is to physical growth. Your body must have breath or it dies. In the same way, the Christian and the Church must pray or become as dead to the cause of Christ.

The ministry of prayer must be taken seriously. If taken lightly, it will be to no avail. Prayer is hard work. Commitment to this ministry is a commitment to labor in prayer. That’s why Prayer Warrior is a good term, describing the essential nature of prayer—hard work in the midst of a spiritual battle: ‘For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but…against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.’  Ephesians 6:12, NKJ

The motivation for the ministry of prayer must be of the Lord. FIRST PRIORITY was begun not because other churches are doing it, but because God has convicted us that we must do it. Similarly, a decision to be involved must be the result of conviction that our Lord wants you to be a Prayer Warrior.

So again, welcome to FIRST PRIORITY! As First Baptist attempts great things for God, we will pray expecting great things from Him.
