Sunday Morning Worship Services
"Let the words of Christ, in all their richness, live in your hearts and make you wise. Use His words to teach and counsel each other. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts." Colossians 3:16
Our Music Ministry leads worship in all four Sunday morning services. This is our priority and ministry focus. Worship is the most vital connection in the life of a Christ-Follower, and we seek to give our best in worship from our hearts with a spirit of excellence.
This scripture reflects the heart of our music and worship ministry at the Community of Promise at First Baptist. It is our desire to worship God in spirit and in truth, connecting people to their Creator. From Children's Choirs beginning at age 3 to dynamic mission-focused youth choir, Hosanna Handbell Choir, the Celebration Orchestra to our adults in the Sanctuary choir and Journey Worship Band and Praise Team, we are committed to connecting people to God in a variety of ways.
Classic Service
Join us at 8:10 AM for a blended-style worship combining hymns, choruses, and traditional favorites of the faith led with choir, piano and organ. Meets in the main Worship Center.
The Journey
Join us in the Journey at either 9:30 AM or 10:50 AM to engage in a variety of contemporary styled worship music that at times includes a fresh expression of your favorite hymns and choruses led with a vocal team and band. Meets in the main Worship Center.
9:31
Come be a part of this alternative worship venue that we call 9:31 that utilizes a band-driven style with current Christian music. The message from our Senior Pastor is video cast live from the Worship Center. Meets in the Student Worship Center on the 2nd floor of the Family Life Center.
Heritage Place Worship Service
The 10:00 AM worship service at Heritage Place, a retirement community near Huguley Hospital, is traditional in nature--great hymns of faith and the faithful preaching of the Word of God. The anthem sung by the Celebration Choir and the message are projected on a large screen TV. The worship service at Heritage Place is preceded by a Bible Study hour led by venue pastor, Melvin Russell.
Bible Fellowship
9:30 AM & 10:50 AM Bible fellowships are available for most age groups.
The one exception is that Junior High students meet at the 9:30 hour, while High School students meet at 10:50.
Evening Worship
Join us for a smaller gathering for studying God's word and music led with a piano. Meets in the Chapel.
